A hoodie isn’t just a hoodie — especially in winter. When the temperature drops, your regular throw-on won’t cut it. You need something built different — heavier, tougher, and made to last. So, what actually makes a hoodie winter ready? Three things: fit, GSM, and fabric.
Fit:
First thing’s first — stop buying slim-fit hoodies. They’re not doing you any favours. A boxy, slightly oversized fit is where it’s at for both comfort and style. You want room to layer underneath, and a structured drape that doesn’t cling. The right fit makes your hoodie look intentional — not like you raided your little brother’s wardrobe. Fabric:
Let’s be blunt — poly-cotton hoodies are rubbish. They might feel soft at first, but after one wash they lose shape, fade, and pill. Total waste of money. If you actually care about longevity, you want 100% cotton — ideally brushed on the inside for comfort. Cotton holds structure, breathes better, and looks cleaner. It’s heavier, sure, but that’s exactly why it’s perfect for winter.
